Which is that one dish that comes to your mind when we discuss Chinese cuisine? If we talk about Indo-Chinese meal, I love veg fried rice, triple Schezwan fried rice, veg Hakka noodles, veg Manchurian, etc. Out of all these Indo-Chinese dishes, vegetable fried rice would easily be the most preferred dish. Many of us prefer road side Chinese veg fried rice. Today I will provide Chinese veg fried rice recipe that is healthy to eat and easy to make.

How to make Veg Fried Rice at home?

Veg fried rice is a flavorful vegan dish prepared with fresh mixed veggies and aromatic spices. Please be ready with the ingredients mentioned below and follow the step by step preparation guide to make Chinese veg fried rice at home.

Ingredients:

Basmati rice 1 cup

Water 2 litres to cook rice

Oil 2 tablespoon

Beans chopped 1/4 cup

Carrot chopped 1 small sized

Spring onion bulbs 1/3 cup

Spring onion greens 1/4 cup

Garlic chopped 1 tablespoon

Green chilli 2 to 3 slits

Soya sauce 1 teaspoon 

Red chilli sauce 1 teaspoon

White vinegar 1/2 teaspoon

Black pepper powder 1 teaspoon

Salt to taste

Preparation steps for Veg Fried Rice:

Wash the rice in running water for about 5 times and soak it for at least 30 minutes. 

Take a pot to boil the 2 litres of water, add salt to taste and 1 teaspoon of oil into the water.

Now add soaked rice, keep stirring and cook until rice are partially cooked. They will take 12 to 15 minutes of cooking time. 

Now sieve the cooked rice through colander to remove extra water and keep it aside for further use. 

Take a wok. Heat oil on high flame and add chopped garlic, saute them. 

Then add beans, carrots and spring onions bulbs and saute on high flame for 2 minutes and stir. 

As the veggies are semi cooked, add green chillies and rice. Then add soya sauce, red chilli sauce and vinegar and give a gentle mix without breaking rice. 

Add salt and pepper to taste and mix. Cook for 1 minute on high flame. 

Switch off the flame and add spring onion greens on top of the rice, toss well and serve hot. 

Enjoy veg fried rice with Veg Machurian or Schezwan chutney on side.
